I am a certified Special Education teacher with five years of teaching experience in a variety of teaching settings. Before teaching, I graduated from Northern Illinois University with a Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Science/Physical Education. I also hold a Master's Degree in Educational Technology, and I have taken several additional graduate level classes in bilingual and multi-cultural education. I am also certified in Special Education, ELL, Driver's Education and Health. I am comfortable working with students of all ages and with all cultural and language backgrounds. During my time teaching special education, I have specialized in helping students who have struggled in math. Through personalized lessons, my students gained confidence and became successful in math class. One of my greatest joys in life is to see a student really understand and start to enjoy learning again! I am sincerely dedicated to making that happen for every single student! The areas I work with most are basic math, pre-algebra, algebra, and geometry, though I am happy to help with more advanced levels as well. I can also tutor K-12 English, Social Studies, Reading/Writing and History. I offer a free consultation meeting or phone consultation to discuss goals and get to know the student so that I can tailor my teaching to your needs. Rates are negotiable and I can be flexible and do half an hour or full hour sessions. Meeting places can be determined on a case by case basis.
