Experienced (with Master’s Degree in Special Education and a BA in Social Studies) teacher willing to tutor. I have almost 20 years teaching experience. I could work on reading, writing, elementary math, and any of the social studies.
I enjoy teaching and working with children. My years of experience working in Special Education has given me lots of creative ways to teach and for my students to learn. Sometimes we need to stick to the school's curriculum but frequently we need to burrow in and find the need(s) that are creating extra challenges for the person learning. When we find that key(s) it really lets the person grow in so many ways. That is exciting for everyone.
I can teach basic reading, writing, math, and social studies. I have taught all of these subjects at both the pre-elementary level through high school (some in general education). It can be fun but does take work.
