I'm a 29-year old DC native who has just returned from six years living in Shanghai, China, and am offering comprehensive Mandarin Chinese tutoring services in the DC area, available immediately for students ages 8 and up (adults included). Having studied Chinese at the intensive Mandarin program at Shanghai's Donghua University, I have a strong familiarity with the traditional approach to Chinese instruction, and I've worked for a number of companies that seek to teach Chinese around the world. However, my real strength is understanding how to approach the language from a Western, native English speaker perspective, including breaking down how tones and syllables work and understanding the importance of character elements/radicals.
