Hasting Math Academy in the west San Fernando Valley offers math tutoring for individuals or small groups. The owner, Joyce Hastings, an LAUSD retiree as of June 2014, established the Academy to help students who are struggling with classroom math or who are looking for more of a challenge. After 40 years of classroom teaching, she decided it was time to trade in her roughly 200 middle school students a day for one or a few students per hour.
