Tutor Job in Columbia, Connecticut

Greetings, I just put an amount in there to fill the spot. Not sure what the going rate is. My son ( Trevor McGhie) lives in a higher functioning group home in Griswold. He really wants to learn to read. That is what he wants for his birthday. He will be 41 years old on April 11th. He is a gentle soul and works five days a week until 2:30 p.m. I realize that this is an unusual request, but I hope you will consider working with him. We would not expect miraculous results. Sight reading to some extent. I recently read about a special needs reading group in South Carolina. They were reading a simplified version of Tom Sawyer and it had just a positive effect on the group’s self confidence. The house manager where Trevor lives would be receptive I know. He knows Trevor would like to read and feels he is very close to being able to live more independently. I think just being able to pick out things on a menu would be very empowering for Trevor.
